On 12th September 2024, BSBCC participated in an awareness campaign for the conservation of Nuluhan Trusmadi Class 1 FMU10 Forest Reserve organized by the Sabah Forestry Department. The campaign took place at SMK Tulid Sinua in the district of Sook, Sabah.

Section of the Forest Research Centre Sepilok and Rainforest Discovery Centre
conducted interactive activities for students to participate in, which
supported further understanding on conservation efforts of each organization.
A tree planting ceremony was also held in the surrounding
school area. The Sabah Forestry Department presented talks on forest
conservation in Sabah and risks of forest fire. An introductory talk on the
efforts of wildlife conservation was also presented by the Sabah Wildlife
Department.
A total of 100 student participated in the talks sessions
and we are also glad to be able to engage with about 900 students in the whole
school, learning about sun bears at our booth.
