We welcomed the invitation from KLK Sawit Nusantara Berhad to participate in their environmental outreach programme in the Sugut area of Malaysia's eastern Sabah, in the division of Sandakan. Both the Sabah Wildlife Department (Sandakan division) and the Sabah Forestry Department (Sugut Conservation Area) joined the programme. We went to four primary schools: SK Sungai-Sungai, SK Keniogan, SK Obah, and Humana School (EC2). Several activities, including talks on the history and advantages of palm oil, an overview of the protected wildlife in Sabah, mask colouring contests, sun bear talk and wildlife exhibitions, have been held over the past three days with the goal of increasing public awareness about the protection of our nature.
