Spotted! A rare occasion of Itam and Kipaku building a nest together in their forest enclosure. Sun bears are arboreal and in the wild make nests on trees and sleep on these tree nests like orangutans. These nests usually consist of piles of tree branches and twigs that are band over from the surrounding, centered at a tree fork that is close to the tree trunk.
As they get older they start to learn new things from each other. Watch Itam and Kipaku work together!
Big thanks Hasanah Foundation and Sime Darby Foundation for being highly supportive of BSBCC's mission to rehabilitate bears like Itam and Kipaku.
