Heart of Borneo (HoB) Roadshow (26–27 August 2025)

On 26–27 August 2025, the BSBCC team participated in the Heart of Borneo (HoB) Roadshow organized by the Sabah Forestry Department. This programme was held in Telupid district, focusing on students and the local community living around the SFM Pintar in Tawai Forest Reserve.

On Day 1, the team conducted activities with students from SMK Telupid and several other secondary schools. The activities continued on Day 2 at Kampung Telupid Hall, where the local community gathered to gain insights into conservation efforts, responsible forestry, and the protection of the Heart of Borneo landscape.

The roadshow provided a valuable platform to inspire awareness and action among both youth and community members, fostering shared responsibility in protecting forests, wildlife, and the rich biodiversity of the Heart of Borneo.

SK Kunak Jaya and SM As-Salam visit (23 August 2025)

A big thank you to the students and teachers from SK Kunak Jaya and SM As-Salam for visiting us at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre!

Our Environmental Education Officer and intern shared fascinating stories about sun bears and guided the groups around the centre. Everyone was thrilled to meet the sun bears and learn how they can help protect them. We hope the visit sparks a lifelong passion for wildlife conservation!

World Elephant Day Celebration at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (20 August 2025)

We are delighted to be part of the World Elephant Day Celebration at Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

This meaningful event, organized by Institut Biologi Tropika dan Pemuliharaan (IBTP) UMS together with Seratu Aatai, brought together various organizations to showcase exhibitions, and featured interactive activities for schools.

A big thank you to the organisers for including us in this impactful event! All with one goal: to raise awareness and respect for wildlife and nature.
