Outreach to SK Ulu Ansuan and CLC Ladang Meliau (2024-09-24)

Yesterday on the 24th of September 2024, BSBCC was invited by KLK Sawit Nusantara to participate in two consecutive school outreaches at Ulu Ansuan, Telupid. Together with us was the Sabah Wildlife Department, Sandakan Branch. We arrived at the first school, SK Ulu Ansuan in the morning around 9.30am after 2hours of journey from our accommodation.

We set up our exhibition booth and entertaining the students and teachers visiting our booth. For the preschool students, we briefed them about the Totally Protected Species and let them colour the wildlife masks that we provided to them. The primary 1 to 6 then involved in talks from Sabah Wildlife Department and BSBCC. The whole programme was finished by 12.30pm.

Soon after we finished at SK Ulu Ansuan and had our lunch, we continue our journey, another 30 minutes from the first school to a Community Learning Centre (CLC) in Meliau Estate, Telupid. Just like the previous school, we set our exhibition booth up and divide the whole student’s group according to their ages and relevant activities. Soon after they finished their respective activities, the spend another 20-minute visiting our booth and interacting with the exhibitors. The programme was done by 4.30pm. Although it was a very tiring day for the whole team and exhibitors to do 2 consecutive outreaches in one day, we were truly satisfied with the warm receptions and seeing the excitement in the faces of the students when we talk about wildlife, conservation and why we want to preserve them. In the end, we must acknowledge that the world today will be handed eventually to them, and we must educate them so they can continue our works today.

Thank you KLK Sawit Nusantara for inviting us to these programmes. We are looking forward to cooperate more with all of you!
